Employment Opportunities at Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam


Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) is pleased to invite suitably qualified applicants to apply for the following positions:

General Requirements:

Applicants for the position must:

  1. Be citizens of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam;
  2. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  3. Have strong analytical skills with good report writing capabilities;
  4. Have strong organisational and planning skills; and
  5. Be fluent in oral and written Malay and English, and is IT literate.

 

1.         EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR [M1]

HUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES

The Executive Director of Human Resource Services is responsible in promoting and implementing human resource values at AMBD by planning and managing strategic and operational human resource programs at AMBD.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations as well as employee retention;
  • Manage strategic HR issues and policies in line with AMBD's strategic objectives;
  • Advise senior management on matters relating to human resource management in shaping strategies;
  • Develop AMBD's annual HR budget, ensuring adequate funding provision is made in line with AMBD's strategic objectives and priorities;
  • Responsible for AMBD's Human Resource Management System and procedures, maintaining all standards of practice and introducing improvements, where necessary;
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on HR issues, including disciplinary matters, demonstrating judgement and an understanding of AMBD's business activities;
  • Manage relevant HR projects while delivering agreed objectives and high levels of resource utilisation;
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the HR department in providing services to other departments in AMBD;
  • Manage staff and aim to develop and motivate team by sharing own specialist expertise and demonstrating leadership;
  • Establish a high level of HR services standards and ensure quality of service delivery by HR staff;
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time..

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a bachelor degree with Honors in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or any related majors from universities or institutions accredited by Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
  • Possessing a Master's Degree or PhD in Human Resource or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Possessing a professional qualification such as Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) or any other relevant professional qualification/s will be an added advantage.
  • Having a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience, especially in leading and managing a Human Resource Team.

2.             ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR [M2]

HUMAN CAPITAL STRATEGY

 

The Assistant Executive Director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the human resources office and assists the Executive Director in managing strategic and operational human resource programs at AMBD.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide advice and guidance to AMBD and its departments on day-to-day HR operational activities;
  • Continuously review, revise and implement employee policies and procedures for clarity and consistency, ensuring it is aligned to best practices;
  • Design and develop HR processes to improve the efficiency of HR operations and recommends new approaches towards continual improvement of processes and operations;
  • Make recommendations and provides expert advice on HR issues, while demonstrating judgement and an understanding of AMBD business activities;
  • Provide input to the development of the annual HR budget, ensuring that adequate funding provision is made in line with AMBD's strategic objectives and priorities;
  • Provide input to the development of HR strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations as well as employee retention;
  • Provide input and advice to continuously improve the current Human Resource Management System and procedures towards maintaining, and enhancing, standards of practice;
  • Ensure HR services standards and quality of service delivery by departmental staff are met;
  • Assist in conflict resolutions and subsequently, provide recommendations;
  • Assist the Executive Director in additional responsibilities and projects, if required;
  • Provides leadership in the absence of the Executive Director; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a bachelor degree with Honors in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or any related majors from universities or institutions accredited by Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
  • Possessing a Master's Degree or PhD in Human Resource or Business Administration will be an added advantage.

3.         SENIOR MANAGER [M3]

CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

The Senior Manager is responsible in planning and overseeing the execution of the Corporate Communications strategies for AMBD. The Senior Manager is also responsible for the development, management and operations of corporate communications activities in AMBD.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading and developing the communication strategy for the maintenance and development of AMBD's corporate image through various external and internal communications activities;
  • Developing and overseeing the strategies and activities in the shaping of AMBD's culture through various external and internal communications activities;
  • Reviewing all external communications activities and publications as well as the relevant internal communications tool;
  • Maintaining a relationship with members of the media in representation of AMBD;
  • Execution of other tasks as instructed by Management; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time..

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good bachelor degree with Honors in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, or any other related majors from universities or institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam;
  • Possessing a Master's Degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
  • Possessing professional qualification/ certification in public relations or corporate communications (e.g. CIPR) will be an added advantage;
  • Having a minimum of 5 years working experience in the related field.

4.         ASSOCIATE/ASSOCIATE TRAINEE [M4]

CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

The Associate shapes and maintains AMBD's reputation, through the planning and execution of various communications campaigns.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shaping, developing and maintaining AMBD's reputation and culture through the development and execution of Corporate Communications strategies and plans, working with the relevant stakeholders and conducting a regular review of AMBD's reputation and culture;
  • Representing AMBD through various external communications campaigns, including but not limited to dialogues, roadshows, etc.;
  • Breaking silos and ensuring symmetrical information is shared across the organisation in regards to AMBD's developments and achievements;
  • Maintaining a relationship with local and international media personnel in representation of AMBD and all internal stakeholders;
  • Ensuring AMBD's voice and brand is consistent in all communications materials by drafting/ reviewing and issuance of communications materials;
  • Assisting in the shaping of AMBD's reputation and culture through the planning and execution of various communications campaigns; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time..

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good bachelor degree with Honors in Corporate Communications, Public Relations or any related disciplines from universities or institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam;
  • Possessing professional qualification or certification in public relations and communications (e.g CIPR) will be an advantage;
  • Having work experience in related fields will be an advantage.

5.         ASSOCIATE/ASSOCIATE TRAINEE [M4]

CURRENCY MANAGEMENT

The Associate is responsible in assisting to develop and produce designs related to currency projects in Currency Management, oversee the operations in Currency Management as well as manage and supervise currency processing.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide and develop design support and ideas on projects related to currency and commemorative products;
  • Develop design ideas by conducting research and translating them into effective designs;
  • Staying up-to-date with current marketing and promotional trends, and develop strategies for marketing projects under Currency Management;
  • Conduct weekly stock check and reconciliation of banknotes and coins;
  • Prepare the relevant paperwork and documentation to request for new note printing and coin stock requests;
  • Provide weekly stock reporting to the assigned supervisor/s on currency inventory;
  • Ensure sufficiency of banknotes and coins stock;
  • Report the processing statistics on a monthly basis to the assigned supervisor/s;
  • Receive and process suspected counterfeit note/s from the public or Police Department;
  • Ensure currency destructions and currency disposal are managed properly in a timely manner, while complying to the necessary procedures, and prepare reports for management on time and accurate; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good bachelor degree with Honors in Digital Design, Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, Business Accounting, Finance, Management and any other related disciplines from universities or institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam;
  • Having a minimum of 3 years working experience in the related field will be an added advantage.

     

6.         ASSOCIATE/ASSOCIATE TRAINEE [M4]

LEGAL AFFAIRS

To provide sound legal advice to all relevant departments under AMBD and to ensure effective management of overall legal risk. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and review various legal documentations including contracts and Memorandum of Understanding;
  • Provide comprehensive legal opinion on complex legal matters through extensive legal research in a timely manner;
  • Have familiarity with all laws under AMBD's purview;
  • Draft and review other legal instruments e.g. Notices, Directions, Guidelines etc. with other departments within AMBD;
  • Represent Legal Affairs in various meetings, seminars and courses locally or internationally; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess good degree in Law (LLB) from universities and institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam;
  • Possess Barrister Professional Training Course (BPTC) or its equivalent qualification;
  • Having a Master in Law (LLM) qualification or its equivalent qualification will be an advantage; and
  • Having relevant working experience will be an advantage.

 

7.       ASSISTANT OFFICER [S1]

PROCUREMENT

 The Assistant Officer is responsible for providing assistance in the coordination and development of procurement processes in AMBD including managing logistical arrangements, developing sound processes and assisting departments within the organisation achieve procurement objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and assess Purchase Requisition Applications and keep applicants informed of the progress of their application;
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders for the endorsement of necessary procurement paperwork;
  • Act as point of reference and advise for procurement processes;
  • Prepare and arrange logistics of AMBD Procurement activities including recording minutes and drafting resolutions;
  • Draft new and enhance current procedures in place to enhance processes related to Procurement, when and where needed;
  • Engage internal stakeholders on new and updated procedures introduced, when and where necessary;
  • Prepare quarterly procurement database; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
     

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess Higher National Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or any equivalent qualification with related courses accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
  • Having any certification related to procurement will be an added advantage; and
  • Prior working experience in related discipline will be an advantage.

     

8.         ASSISTANT OFFICER [S1]

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

The Assistant Officer is responsible for providing assistance in IT technical support, security and operations for IT system and Data Centre (DC).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support, troubleshoot incidents and problems, identify source of issues, and determine possible solutions for IT system, Data Centre and related services;
  • Monitor outsourced services of IT system;
  • Monitor Data Centre facilities and hardware;
  • Assist in project implementation of IT system and related services;
  • Assist with risk and audit assessment of Information Technology;
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and implementation of necessary IT related policies, standards, procedures, baselines and guidelines for AMBD;
  • Assist in maintaining and producing reports and other documentations; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess a Higher National Diploma/ Advanced Diploma in Information Technology (IT) or IT related courses accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam or of equivalent qualification;
  • Possess any relevant professional qualification or certification will be an added advantage;
  • Having experience on Data Centre, IT Infrastructure and project implementation will be an added advantage.
