In line with AMBD’s objective to foster and develop a sound and progressive financial services sector and to uphold His Majesty's aspirations to promote Islamic Finance, AMBD acts as the Secretariat to the Syariah Financial Supervisory Board.

AMBD through the Islamic Financial Services Unit facilitates and supports the Board's role of ensuring and certifying that Islamic financial products are Syariah compliant.

Brunei Darussalam is an active member of international Islamic organizations such as the International Development Bank (IDB), Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) and International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM).
