Overview

Currency Gallery was officially opened by the His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office on 17 January 2006. The Gallery displays the history and the development of currencies used in Brunei Darussalam. Majority of the displays consist of new and old banknotes and coins, commemorative coins issued by Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam.

The collection at the gallery contains a number of old and new coins, which were used in Brunei Darussalam. In addition, the gallery contains coins and banknotes issued by Brunei Currency and Monetary Board and Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, as well as the commemorative coins issues to the present time.
